Geez, you got to love this stuff.

On March 5 (6943), I queried "The puzzle on the SPO for me was whether it would finally bring analysts on board (e.g. would RB's Keith Benjamin start to say nice things about EGGS, given RB's underwriter role)." KB has long pooped on EGGS as an unproven business model. Here I thought maybe he wouldn't be just one of the street-walkers.

Now, this morning, he writes:

NEW COVERAGE OF EGGHEAD With the site already a top 10 shopping
destination and over 750,000 customers, we believe Egghead.com is
emerging as a leading e-tailer of computer-related products. We have
been impressed by the company's ability to transition its brand from its prior retail store operations and by how quickly the company has grown its online customer base since launching its Web site in March 1998. The company had 14 years to establish its brand through its retail store network. This has proved to be a significant competitive advantage for Egghead in the highly competitive e-tailing sector. We believe Egghead's business model can deliver long-term profitability, particularly through the integration of its retail, liquidation, and auction buying formats. For these reasons, we initiated coverage of Egghead.com this week with a Buy rating.
