Great Plains Reports Financial Results for the Third Quarter
FARGO, N.D., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Great Plains Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: GPSI - news), a leading provider of business management software solutions to the midmarket, announced today financial results for the fiscal quarter ending February 28, 1999.

Great Plains reported third quarter revenues of $35.8 million, a 59% increase over the same period last fiscal year. Operating income for the third quarter of fiscal 1999 was $4.8 million, up 56% over the third quarter of fiscal 1998. Net income and diluted earnings per share for the third quarter of fiscal 1999 were $3.4 million and 23 cents per share respectively, compared to net income and diluted earnings per share of $2.4 million and 17 cents per share for the same period last fiscal year.

Revenues for the nine months ended February 28, 1999, were $94.8 million, an increase of 59% over the comparable period last fiscal year. Operating income for the nine months ended February 28, 1999, was $11.9 million, a 60% increase over the comparable period last fiscal year. Net income and diluted earnings per share for the nine months ended February 28, 1999, were $8.4 million and 58 cents respectively, compared to net income and diluted earnings per share of $6.0 million and 43 cents per share for the same period last fiscal year.

Revenues from the Company's Dynamics platform solutions -- Dynamics and Dynamics C/S+ -- accounted for $33.5 million in revenues during the third quarter of fiscal 1999, an increase of 72% over the same period last fiscal year. For the nine months ended February 28, 1999, revenues from the Company's Dynamics platform solutions were $88.2 million, a 71% increase over the same period last fiscal year.
