I just had a very brief fantasy - please forgive me:

A note on both of web sites and in our emails and in our alert boxes saying the following:

We are terribly sorry about the problems we have recently experienced in our online trading services. We understand your frustration and the fact that such problems result in your inability to properly trade. As a result, we will be offering free trading for all customers as a partial compensation to you for the inconvenience during these outages.

You will receive an email shortly advising you of the number of free trades to which you are entitled - the number will be based as a percentage of the total number of trades you have made since joining ETrade.

Again, we apologize for the outages.

CNBC just reported that ETrade told them they attribute this mornings problems to increased customer demand brought about by Dow 10,000.

I am NOT joking, folks. That's what ETrade says caused a one hour plus outage!!!!!!!

My previous post was wrong, not a fantasy dream, it's a nightmare!

Well, I still have 2 positions open with them. When I close those positions, I am certainly through... Trading that is. I still am fuming over this and will find a way to hurt their bottom-line. They won't ever care until their bottom-line is damaged.
