How can a $200 CLIK! be included in a $10 Walkman?

Easy, the same way Sony does everything else. Sell the hardware
below cost and make it up on royalties from the music.

It won't be $10 to start but people certainly are willing to pay $100 or more for a good quaility compact device.

Iomega is certainly charging what they think they can get for the device now and not just blowing it out at cost. You know as well as I do if the Japan Inc. wants to build these in they'll make them cheap. There is nothing about clik! that makes it more expensive than a CD.

Ken -

I know you've had other responses already, but I just have to tell you that's a really dopey question. Give me a major break.

1 - The OEM cost of an internal Clik! drive won't be anywhere near $200

2 - Sony makes MiniDisc Walkmans. Minidisc players certainly cost as much or more to build than Clik! drives. Accordingly, Sony sells the MiniDisc Walkmans at prices significantly above $10.

Really, Ken. I thought you were interested in serious discussions.
