Anybody else agree that while we have another rumor play today, the large volume is more than explained by the fact shorts are running for some cover, at least for now?

What will you know if you find out if x, or y, or z, is a logical candidate for becoming a buyer? If you base a purchase decision on this, you're just crap shooting. If some insider tells you that the deal is on, what will that tell you? Nothing. It only changes your psychology so that you are amenable to be had. You don't make investment decisions based on this kind of hearsay. In fact, you should avoid any company that is presumably a takeover candidate if that is the only reason for buying. It's just a shell game. In FORE's case they're buying because the company is getting interesting. There's no question that the takeover stuff gets them all out now just in case, but that means the fuel is spent. When the market starts down on Monday FORE will drop like a rock, but enigmatically will rally while the generals are getting it. At that time no one will be talking takeover. They will be selling as FORE rises to get out of that "dog".
