Their K7 is clearly an attempt to get into the Server business. However, AMD's ultimate objective seems always to be to pss into Intel's soup, and not necessarily make a good business for themselves. The upshot of this is that IF (VERY BIG IF) the K7 works as planned and IF they can deliver chip sets/motherboards, etc for server applications (even with 3'rd party support), AMD will attempt to blow the server market apart with the cheapest prices you can imagine for these CPUs.* Again, AMD is not attempting to make money - but to destroy their nemesis's (Intel) ability to make extravagant profits. This sounds dumb, but this is what AMD does. Again and again. Paul
