To all lonely survivors: Well, here is some news on SYNT. Hasnt done much for the stock price but I know its a prestigous and difficult to earn award (I helped a client once on the documentation required for it). Syntel's Chennai Global Development Center Awarded ISO 9001 Certification
TROY, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March, 29, 1999--Syntel, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNT) announced today it's Global Development Center based in Chennai, India, has been awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 certificate of approval by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).
Syntel has been assessed for the quality management system in place at the facility for its software-related services, including: analysis, design, development, maintenance, enhancement, and support for applications in product and services industry, business, finance, communication, insurance, and government. This certification indicates Syntel's internal systems meet or exceed stringent quality standards. Syntel's Global Development Center in Chennai is a fully networked facility that, combined with its Mumbai facility, provides the capacity for approximately 1,200 software engineers.
