I forget who has asked many times about power source... two very special (and expensive!) AA batteries, engineering estimates indicate a conservative 3.8 years life in field.

I might be mistaken but I think the batteries are being purchased from Israel. Not your average battery.

Hi Jim and nice to see you outside of the woodwork as you put it. Thanks for the info. In my opinion EVDS is a GO+++ situation.

Regards,

Bill Fortune III

Jim, I'm afraid your post might not have been entirely clear to all readers of the thread. Jim Marks is not the COO of EVDS. This post was posted at the Raging Bull by the COO of EVDS:

Chewy...

You finally got me out of the woodwork with your mention of robotics. I'm the COO of EVDS... and was a founder of Robotics International, a section of The Society of Manufacturing Engineers back in the early eighties... (I was the seventh person to be certified by SME in Factory Automation in the US) and the first Chairman of the New England Chapter. That was the old days.

Yes, first units off the line next week, but those first units being sent to our testing labs for certification for FCC compliance and certification of "intrinsic safety" for installation in a hazardous location. That process should take no longer than two weeks. I forget who has asked many times about power source... two very special (and expensive!) AA batteries, engineering estimates indicate a conservative 3.8 years life in field.
