Thanks for your reply. It's not really the communication that's my biggest worry. It's the hugs I don't get, like the more physical side of the relationship. I've got animals - two cats and a large dog, all of which gives me lots of affection. I work in aged care, and also get many hugs from the residents. But it's still not the same. Know what I mean?
