In my opinion, all E*Trade IPO's are going to Platinum account holders.

I have been told the Etrade account holders with big bucks are offered IPO's first, i guess this would be the Platinum folks.

I was in on IVIL in the first 3 minutes, a Platinum member 4 minutes after me was allocated shares, i was not.

Think about it, Etrade gets 80,000 shares of "XYZ" IPO. That's 800 customers who get 100 shares. I would estimate Etrade has 10,000 accounts with Platinum status.

I am a bit miffed E*Trade does not make this clear to new customers. The moral : if you signed up to get IPO's and have less than 100K in your account , forget it. For this reason and considerable server downtime, and poor customer service. Think before you sign on the line.

Regards,

MJY

This was a remarkable day for the IPO of IVIL! And yes, there is a "sucker" born every minute. Particularly at 85 to 100 dollars. Sure, I'll probably buy, it is just a matter of where this baby will find it's bottom. I'll say around 50 dollars. I could be wrong, though. I did not get filled. CLOSE, but no dice. About E-trade? Please refer to my post over on the "E-trade sucks" board. The next IPO to look at would probably be "Barnes and Nobles.com" (next Friday). I wish all who bought the best of luck and "happy hunting" to all. Time will tell with IVIL. ............By the way, does anybody know the float that IPOed today. Is it true that GE (aside from AOL) has stakes on this company?...................'Later.

Well, E-Trade has been treating me very well. Besides computer glitches and trading difficulties, I still rate E-Trade as excellent on almost all aspects of online trading. You have to remember that online brokerage firms are experiencing leaps and bounds; therefore, they are not perfect. They are making amends to retain customers by accommodating their needs. It will take time for them to smooth wrinkles out.

E-Trade, I believe, probably is the only online brokerage firm that would give out IPO allocations to their customers with less than 100k in their accounts. You will not have a chance with other online brokerage firms if you don't have 100k.

Summing up in a few words, I am content with E-Trade, and of course, with my realistic expectations of E-Trade in terms of trading executions and customer service, I will give them time to make amends and improve on all aspects.

Getting emotional over things like your comment is almost unreasonable. After all, we are human. As you know, the saying goes, "Patience is a virtue."
