I've now instituted a 15 Minute Rule--if a friend or date's tardiness has me waiting at a restaurant for this long, I get up and leave (even though I don't mind dining by myself). I used to try to "pay back" my tardy acquaintances by being late myself, but I it made me so antsy I stopped. Habitual tardiness translates to selfishness in my book. Course I'm selfish too, but at least I show up on time before I launch into Mr. Me.
