Jim,

Basically IBM started the swan dive around 2:00. An analyst from Morgan Stanley cut their target price on Big Blue and I believe said something about the potential for a "soft" quarter. It seemed as though everything just drifted from there. AT&T also got hammered on the close due to some reallocation with the S&P.
