No, Van Gogh wasn't that sick--he was that alive.

Saw a bunch of his paintings at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and he was absolutely fearless. You haven't seen "Sunflowers" until you've stood in front of the original: big 3D gobs of color that leap from the canvas, just like he did in life. Dude was bold. Bold scares people.
