You know, Hendrix was into the satellite business before Bernie Schwartz... That line from his song "Fire" - "Let me stand next to your fire..." was written while watching a satellite launch at Cape Canaveral in 1966; Jimi was the guy who pushed the button labeled "Launch" at Mission Control. It didn't pay very well, so he got a couple of guys who washed out of astronaut training together and formed a group called "The Jimi Hendrix Experience". The world remembers John Glenn when they think of those days at the Cape, but the real (untold) story is of the Mission Control brother who wrote a another song about space, called "Third Stone From the Sun". That Jimi was a real space nut...<ggg>
