New to this board and have more questions than opinions. Also looking at lower end Compaq laptops. Have engineer friend with 1235 with HPA screen, he likes it and it looks okay if you look straight at it. Is TFT worth the price?

Congratuations on a fine board have been lurking for months.

Hello Chris,

The decision you are trying to make appears to be one more people than ever before are trying to make: "laptop or a new desktop." When it comes down to one or the other but not both and a person is leaning towards a notebook, the availability of port replicators and/or docking stations start to become considerations. I have decided I can not live with a notebook that does not have a port replicator (at a minimum). Some people weigh the pros and cons and decide having a port replicator or docking station is not important to them.

From everything I hear, notebook prices should, as you think, be coming down. If you find a model currently available and are not pressed to make a purchase, I should expect the price of it to fall when INTC releases its new notebook chip in a few months.

Right now I am trying to juggle four tasks at once, but as soon as I am done with my notebook findings I shall share them with you.

Lynn
