jman,

Good post. You make some excellent points. But there is one item with which I have to disagree. In your post you wrote:

I did not appreciate at all the way last quarter's earnings warning was handled by RMBS' management. They should have warned earlier like most competent management teams do.

Actually, the quarterly earnings for Oct-Dec came in exactly at the estimate of 8 cents. No warning or pre-announcement is required for that. The new news that hurt the stock was that they saw the next couple of quarters coming in flat (a reduction of $.01 and $.02 from the estimate). So they actually gave us 3 and 6 months warning -- a very responsible and significant lead time. I don't think you can fault them for that.

Now, if you wanted to complain about a lack of "flash" or "sizzle", I wouldn't argue. Well, that's not even true, since I believe their job is to deliver profits, not hype ("success speaks for itself"). But I wouldn't argue much <g>.

Other than that, good stuff.

Have a good weekend.

Dave B

Vegas,

Glad to have you back and I appreciate your thoughts. I will say though that RMBS is a VERY odd stock and is synchronized to nothing! Once you think it is going lower, BOOM! BWDIK.

I will agree with you that there are many greener pastures out there for now. It's winter in RMBS land right now, so I moved on to sunnier climates, if you know what I mean. But I see Spring around the corner! Just not sure what the groundhog will see when he comes out of his hole. He might be seeing a bit more winter. <gg>

Regards,

MileHigh
