Thanks for your follow-up on email issues at ORCL.. given I oversee, and at times still support, MS Exchange based email services, I know who my internal state-wide customers (+2000) would be including in the roasting pot if we had ongoing problems.

I do hope ORCL software isn't the issue.. perhaps they went cheap on gear. For example, a decision made by others to go with third party server memory caused several months of down-the-road instability/data corruption on our system with no clear root cause until we shelled out +$25K for OEM memory.

My opinion is that if ORCL can't deliver enterprise class email service internally for a basic staple like email (and force customers to use low-tech alternatives), it would weigh heavily on the firm. Doesn't ORCL have a world-class web based customer mgmt system with touted low costs?? Is that working okay?

Perhaps the email grief stems primarily from management issues more than a technical ones. I'm really curious what the root cause(s) are behind the email problems- could someone elaborate more?

Thanks,

Orlando
