Victor: according to B'berg the mean estimate for CPQ's end of March quarter is c32.1 with a range from c20 to c43. The c43 estimate is way above the distribution [broker name undisclosed] and is more than six
months old.The range goes as follows [for the ones disclosing their
identity]:
-Olde Discount Corp c30 March 18
-Piper c20 March 18
-Soundview Fin c32 March 15
-Janney Montgomery c31 March 8
-Sanders Morris c33 March 3
-Pru c31 March 1
-AG Edwards c31 March 1
-ING Barings Furman c35 March 1
-Nationsbanc c33 March 1
-CIBC Oppenheimer c33 March 1
-Brown Brothers c29 Feb 26
-Robinson-Humphrey c32 Feb 26
-Gerard Klauer c34 Feb 24
-Kaufman Bros c36 Feb 5
-Wasserstein P c34 Feb 3
-ABN AMRO c36 Feb 2
I would ad the following estimates from recent reports:
-M Stanley c31 Mar 12
-Merril c30 Mar1
-CSFB c31 Feb 26
The vast majority of estimates range from c29 to c36. Kumar is as
far from the mean as the c43 forecast.
Hope this helps.
