Hi Redhead

"Here is a good white to try if you can find it...deLadoucette pouilly-Fume....one of our favorites...smile"

Funny you should pick this. My choice for white is the Pouilly Fuisse'. It must be icy cold.

Thanks Redhead for "1987 Grgich Hills Cab....nectar of the gods..." recommendation. I'll make sure to get either 82 or 87 Cab. and report back. (Hope I can find one)

I am a beginner in this area. My dad loves Cab so I picked up this cab thing only a few month ago. I'd like to find the best cabs and give him the "6 pack" for his birthday coming on November.

I am thinking about giving him 6 different kind. Maybe 4 or 5 cabs and one or two white wine.

Have you tried the Peju H&B 87? This is definatley "nectar".

I commend your choice of the mid-late 80's Grgich Cabernet as well. Those were some great wines. Hard to come by now, though.

Redhead, where can I get 80's Grgich Cabs?

After researching for 3 hours on internet, I could only find 90's Grgich cabs. I ordered these three:

calwine.com
1994 Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon $ 39.00
1995 Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon $ 44.00 (two bottles)
1995 Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon $ 88.00

I remember my dad liked Robert Mondavi Reserve...
For myself, I'll try Grgich '95 Cab.
