I totally concur with the ominious picture, you state. I hope I am not giving a bullish scenario. I have warned on numerous occasions that I am bearish in the intermediate term. My 401K money is completely in bonds, to preserve capital. I only have a few choices in that account and all the other choices are stock mutual funds. I moved those funds out of stocks at the beginning of the year and even though the Dow has risen 10% or so since then, almost every fund I have access to, in that account, is down for the year. What a great call that was! The only fund that is up on the year is a foreign fund, and I believe that is a very temporary aberration caused by the reallocation of assets out of our market into "bargain" investments. Well guess what, sometimes you get what you pay for.
As for my risk capital, I will be looking to write CC's deep in the money within the next two weeks!
I am just having some fun anticipating the next scene, in "The Big Act"
