uncle frank...OT...re: index funds..

agree...vanguard also has a high growth s+p index which i believe tracks the top 143 firms in the index...

one should also consider the s+p 100 trust trading on amex symbol qqq...just started trading two weeks ago, par value $100...top one hundred s+p stocks, but 50% weighted in top 10 issues....dell,csco,msft,intc,aol,......your broker can give you the exact weightings...can be traded in out immediately, don't have to wait until end of day as a mutual fund requires...would recommend for the novice or experienced long term investor....ed a.

Uncle Frank,

Check out this site for alternatives to Index Funds, SPY, DIA, and others trade just like stocks. QQQ, the NAZ100 is the newest one, there are also sector Spyders. These have all the advantages of Index funds and then some.
