Microsoft Corp., the world's largest software maker, said it's on track to ship its new product to run corporate networks, Windows 2000, in the second half.

That's great news, is it not?!

I think we will see many "positive" PR announcements (or at least "we are OK announcements") from MSFT both this week as we head towards the split, and again, after the split as we move on towards Q3 earnings release.

MSFT management knows full well that they need several PR wins to offset all these blunders coming out of the trial. I do not expect them to announcement serious product delays in the near term. With Ballmer, I think there is renewed focus and accountability within the management team, and this will translate to (a much needed) perceived execution by them in the eyes of the public. This is one of the big positives that I believe the trial has brought about, and in the long run will only make MSFT a better company.
