Dave, The news release of 02/01/99 regarding the agreement between IDC and Nokia made no mention of B-CDMA. 30 million was received up front and another 40 million will be received over the term of the agreement. All it afforded was that IDC will help Nokia develop building blocks for 3g. At this point it's unclear to everyone what will come out of this relationship ? 70 million is a lot of money so it's reasonable to think there is something planned. I'm sure in time Tero will have some opinion of what might develop out of this venture.

A few weeks ago Interdigital held a conference call for shareholders and it was hosted from Iowa over their fixed B-CDMA system. The voice quality was perfect and the telephone used was a normal phone . Pioneer holdings commented they were very pleased with the system.

I wonder if the Q's offer for fixed wireless can use a regular phone ? I always thought B-CDMA would have to have a special phone but maybe that's only if it's mobile ?
