"Who is the govt?". A good question!
Discoursing on that one is probably off-topic for this thread, so, as much as I would like to....

Ken,

You wouldn't think that defining the term "government" would be pertinent to Y2K, but given that so many people of the "government" doing this, or the gov't doing that due to Y2K, I think it is IMPERATIVE that people refrain from treating the government as an amorphous entity that has no human face (except the current MFWIC sitting in the oral office).

And I'll guarantee you that the intelligence community is just like us when it comes to analyzing Y2K. They have a variety of opinions and a hell of a lot of gatekeepers who decide exactly what information gets passed upstairs through the DCI to the folks at the NSC. Claiming the intelligence agencis of the US fully understand the ramifications of Y2K is not logical in the least. Some folks may, many of them don't. (just like the rest of us).

The gov't is a mish-mash of MANY diverse and oftentimes rival agencies and employees. All of them are constantly scrambling to expand their power base using their own private constituency to pressure congress and the White House to divert more resources to their projects.

The gov't is a reflection of the citizens it represents. And that might just be a little more frightening than what you had in mind... <VBG>

Regards,

Ron

<Ron: RE: Your question: "Who is the govt?". A good question! Discoursing on that one is probably off-topic for this thread, so, as much as I would like to .... So, for simplicity purposes, I will just state that I am referring to the Whitewashed House.>

KEEP POLITICS OUT OF THIS! What purpose does this serve, blaming anyone. IMHO - They're all corrupt - Republicans and Democrats. The FED and Wall Street. All have self-serving interests.

WE HAVE A PROBLEM. Let's get it fixed.

Just in case it can't be fixed adequately in time, let's share information ... which people can accept OR not accept ... and make their own decisions on what to do ... or not do.
