To be honest, I also didn't set much by it a few months ago, I think it was with the surges in the internet sector that I changed my mind and have gone less 'fundamental' and more solidly 'chart pattern recognition'. The chart breakouts discussed in the Magee and Edwards book (Technical Analysis of Stock Trends) are classic and Cabots book works off those breakout patterns, and is a variation on the "theme" in Edwards' book which I feel is a great classic book on the subject. The most successful way I found of 'capturing' the internet surges and trend reversals are already drawn out by some of these classic books. Now I'm re-studying the 'breakout theories' in these books. The obvious implications could be very profitable especially in light of the preponderance of Internet IPO's and interest of the public in the net and the 'net stocks.
