Towards the end I started rooting for Ohio State. I figured there was no way St. Johns was going to play that badly two games in a row. Heck, Artest was shooting airballs! I just sort of rationalized if St. Johns can get that close to winning being totally off their game then UConn should be able to handle Ohio State.

From UConn's perspective, I'm glad they got that one bad game out of their system-- and still won. They got no threes, only 5 points off their fast-break, and El Amin was 0-12 from the floor. On the bright side, when Kevin Freeman had to hit those freethrows to seal it, he came through (I kept flashing back to Donyell Marshall needing to hit only one of two to seal it a few years back and his missed both.) Hey, a win's a win... just ask St. Johns!
