I'm sure Gary could provide you with any number of sources about the Chinese bases in Panama, but you could start with the December 1998 edition of the National Security Report of the Defense Education Fund. It outlines the testimony given before the Senate foreign relations committee last July concerning our impending confrontation with China over access to the Panama canal. You may also want to read the book written and published last year by the former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Thomas Moorer, entitled "The Death Knell of the Panama Canal".

The legacy of the Clinton era will be with us for a long time to come, perhaps forever.

IF YOU HAD bothered to listen to the other side, you would not have had to ask the question. Please see Posts #'s 39602 and 39606. Actually take the time to go to the sites I posted and REALLY LISTEN to to words. With any luck, you will understand what is going on and we will indeed have YOU standing at our side as indignant as we are.
