fubsy, Most of us on this thread, I think, have learned that Wade Cook's books are just great for motivation! Not much more. You've landed on the right thread! Herm, has taught us a solid approach to Covered Call Writing.
I would suggest that you:
A. Go back the last 200 messages to bring you up-to-date and to get a feel for how powerful the content is.
B. Request the Power Point Presentation from Herm. He e-mails it to you for FREE!
C. Check out Doug's website at webbindustries.com. Doug has developed and/or shared access to a number of tools for you to use, FREE!
D. Read McMillan's "Options as a Strategic Investment" and "McMillan on Options" (keep these for reference). Bittman's "Options for the Stock Investor" Trester's "Complete Option Player" (which Nate recommended)and Tesser's (not Trester)"The Trader's Tax Survival Guide" are all favorites of mine.
E. You will want to become familiar Chart Reading(an expert?) with Bollinger Bands, Relative Strength, and MacD.
F. If you are interested in L.E.A.P.S you will want to read Roth's "L.E.A.P.S.-How to Use Them for Profit and Protection.

The understanding of the content of all of the above should get you to a point of basic understanding, AND take a lot of time. As you begin, stay with Herm's thread, it will all come together.

Further, I think it would NOT be a waste of time to read ALL of the messages on this thread. Very little chatter, 90% good stuff that will take you step-by-step thru many previous plays, with reflections and observations by many contributors. Also, you will find references to many on-line resources.

Having made the above recommendations, bottom-line is - You are in the right place to learn as much as you want to. Herm's projections, methodology, and insight has proven to be more valuable, for me than any of the other materials. If you read it all you find so many unselfish contributors of merit.
Good Luck!
