Richard,
I was up past 3am last night. And you are part of the cause. And I am a LOT better off for it.

When I posted my reply to your post (to me)...... I clearly realized my deficiencies. Namely, and I hate the word, it is: 'the system'.

I read 2 articles in Apr 'T/A Stock & Commodities' magazine last night and neither had more than a casual reference to T/A!! One was about a Ph.D professor who "coaches" traders. His message was all traders have different 'systems' (risk/reward) and they all can work. There are a lot of successful people who have 'coaches'. He does not even suggest that he is 'smarter' than his pupils. He just keeps them focused on their 'system'.

The 2nd article "Some rules to trade by" was clear, concise and you could have written it (maybe better). His message was the same as yours: 'plan your trade and trade your plan'. The article is under the heading 'novice trader' (that's me!) and has 15 rules.

Richard, I could have attached your last post after the 15th rule, and continued reading with the same interest. A public "tip of the hat to ya'"......... THANKS, JC Grimes, Tampa

and an especially big thanks for the last post (and patience).
I won't say I have the puzzle, but I have a lot more pieces and I know what it's going to look like!

The Winter '99 Equis catalog offered a course "The Secret to Making $1 Million in five years or less" by Ryan Jones. (it may also have been offered in previous catalogs).

Anyway, does anyone have any insight into this course or into the qualifications of Mr. Jones?

The course title, by itself, sounds a bit bogus unless of course you're starting with a portfolio worth 500K.
