Scarecrow -

Thank you for your response -- have enjoyed many of your earlier posts.

IMO your comment is right on the mark: CMGi's success just feeds on itself and mutliplies as it gains in stature and reach. As you say it will likely get top consideration for internet VC funding because of that -- plus the very substantial "keiritsu" effect (I'm not sure how to spell it either -- one day I'll look it up !). In a recent interview, the Raging Bull principals talked about the convenience of ready-made and readiliy available resource and personnel assistance, etc. after the CMGi investment (IMO Raging Bull will also be a very solid IPO -- I believe CMGi got a ? 40+ % position for 2 or 3 million). At the CC, I believe the term DW used was extending CMGi's "value chain".

You mentioned "sifting through 1,000 quality business plans a month" -- exactly and more ! DW mentioned either at the CC or in a recent interview that they had 1,000 FOR JANUARY AND TWICE THAT FOR FEBRUARY." Hopefully getting first pass on the 'pick of the litter' will extend CMGi's "value chain" onward and upward into the next millenium. Extending the focus globally -- if @ Ventures proceeds -- would be a very exciting kicker.

Thanks again and good luck --

George Martin

cmgi.com Is this conflict of interest giving LCOS to Usa Networks/Tickmaster since CMGI partly owns a competetive business
