ASND was king of remote access before the acquisition of CSCC. The split between their ATM/Frame and RA was about 50/50. They owned the ISP's with the Max line and had good penetration of the carrier market with ATM/Frame. If one segment weakened, the other could compensate. Fore doesn't have this kind of luxury.

Growth in this market is currently decreasing by 50%. FORE needs a larger player who has an existing customer base, and who can benefit from merging in some of their technology.
