Hey Drew

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who finds that he is not surrounded by cold, calm, highly educated, optimised, decision making robots.

Anyway look at at this way: It's what makes the world interesting!

Actually it would be a boring world without the marketing guys too. Who is supposed to come up with the new services, new ways of selling them etc, if not the marketing guys.

In our G* case the Vodaphone/ATI guys will very quickly work out that they can get new terrestial customers by offering them G* phones at G* set prices and making the minutes available free (ie at a loss to VOD). This will work because they know that G*/CDMA/AMPS phone users will be using their phone for 90% via the terrestial network and this will make them easily enough money to pay G* for the other 10%. This is the elegance of the G* Business Model!

The SPs will set the price at what the market wants anyway because they know they can make money on new customers and stop churn and solve all those other problems they currently have.

No on screen-quotes required! Do not get me wrong Maurice, I think your idea is beautiful and philosophically absolutely correct, but for the here and now, we have a perfectly workable marketing channel and pricing mechanism via very motivated SPs.

Regards

Oliver
