Where EBAY is perhaps the #1 auction company on the Internet conducting strictly a consumer-to-consumer or people-to-people type auction, --"is anyone aware of any Internet auction companies, old or new, that has a business model similar to EBAY"?-- From what I can gather, EBAY's revenue in 1998 was about US$47 million but in the United States auctions, classified ads, garage sales, flea markets, etc. could be worth US$100 billion. I'm surprised there's not more following EBAY's lead into people-to-people auction.!!!!!
