Hi Frank, ww and Threaders,

<You should see the intersection of Wall and Water in NY City right now. It was just paved over, by the way, but that doesn't stop progress. Those fluorescent markings create the illusion of some kind of surreal 3D game board from the windows above.> I'm reviewing Piet Mondrian's life work to see if I can spot the next trend in surface manipulation. <g> But seriously, a while back I was chatting with a "pocket protector" type who suggested that the "half-life of pavement on lower Manhattan Island is 18 months. Kinda puts things in perspective. It also raises the question: Why don't we just put a temporary "floor" in all the public right's of way and create a larger scale equivalent of the raised computer room floor? Just wondering.

<ps - graffiti artists are arrested and sentenced to performing community services in New York City.> Couple of years back in SF, a tagger was caught out "in flagrante delicto", so to speak. When IDed, turned out he was one of those community service workers sentenced to try to curtail youths who were also engaged in his original transgression, you guessed it, tagging. <gg>

Frank, stainless is good, HDG (hot dipped galvanized is far more practical from an estimator's perspective.
