Jorj,

I don't go anywhere I can't drive to. Birds have wings, I don't.

I have heard Lake Norfork is a nice diving place, lots of neat rock formations, flooded towns etc., and gin clear water. But when I'm there in April the water is usually in the 40s and even the dive shops are closed.

25 years ago when I used to go to Canada, I thought about taking up scuba. Lots of neat water in Canada. At the time I couldn't afford the equipment. Plus the only instructor around was a guy fresh out of Special Forces who was a mercenary. His course was two weeks of hell. For a couple of weeks in Canada where most of my time would be taken up with fishing it wasn't worth it.

I live in Central Illinois. The rivers look like chocolate milk. Most lakes won't let people dive and even if they did, they have something called black water. Looks clear but the light doesn't penetrate.
