VITAL! VITAL! A MUST-MUST READ FOR ALL PET OWNERS; RE; Y2K EMERGENCY PREPARDNESS!!! As many of you are probably aware, most animals, espically birds, cats, and small pets, have a SUBSTANTIALLY more sensitive respiratory sytem than we do. Thus, they are exponentially more at risk, espically, ALL BIRDS,to alternative indoor lighting, heating, and cooking means than humans!!!!!!! When electricity is down, almost everyone without solar will use candles, oil lamps, propane, butane, even heavy-duty batteries indoors as a substitute. ALL OF THE ABOVE CAN AND WILL KILL BIRDS AND ANY/EVERY OTHER ANIMAL PET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The biggest danger is from the carbon dioxide fumes they will put out. Those who plan to use backup generators must also plan for those alternatives as your fuel reserves, unless you have a large tank, will very likely find your fuel spent before electrical generation is predictably up and running and guaranteed for the future. I have spent months trying to find products for indoor lighting, heating and cooking THAT CAN BE GUARANTEED TO BE SAFE FOR BIRDS AND OTHER PETS. I HAVE FINALLY FOUND THE MOST GUARANTED SAFE AND EFFECTIVE SUCH ALTERATIVES!!! FOR LIGHTING: A BATTERY-POWERED (D) LANTERN, 60-80 WATTS. FOR HEATING AND COOKING: ALCO-BRITE PRODUCTS ANYONE WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR PETS LIFE ENOUGH TO WANT INFORMATION ABOUT THESE PRODUCTS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL PROVIDE IT.
