Ok, a little Sunday afternoon humor so we do not take ourselves and the market too seriously.

A magazine recently ran a 'Dilbert Quotes' contest. They were looking for people to submit quotes from their real-life Dilbert-type managers. Here are some of the submissions:

>>> (For those uninitiated, Dilbert is a comic strip that depicts surreal working life under a boss expelled from hell)

>>> What I need is a list of specific unknown problems we will encounter.(Lykes Lines Shipping)
>>>
>>> How long is this Beta guy going to keep testing our stuff?
>>> (Programming intern, Microsoft IIS Development team)
>>>
>>> E-mail is not to be used to pass on information or data. It should be used only for company business. (Accounting Mgr., Electric Boat Company)
>>>
>>> This project is so important, we can't let things that are more
>>> important interfere with it. (Advertising/Mktg. Mgr., UPS)
>>>
>>> Doing it right is no excuse for not meeting the schedule. No one will believe you solved this problem in one day! We've been working on it for months. Now, go act busy for a few weeks and I'll let you know when it's time to tell them. (R&D Supervisor, 3M Corp.)

VRIO, WEBT,EPAY and the like.. When these stocks were mentioned as 'hits' and triggering buy signals they subsequently were up 20 or more points but there is a point when they stop going up.. I did mention that you should 'suspect' any stock that is in a long term uptrend.. The longer the uptrend the more suspect is that particular stock. That is why chart reading is so important for these hi flyers. ATHM was so attractive last week we had it as #1 on our watch list and then the chart pattern was not a strong uptrend but rather a nice cup and handle, which usually points to a good entry level, and only the beginning of an uptrend but here again, if ATHM continues to make these gains, others not wanting to miss out will get in high and then the stock will retreat. When we say something 'triggers a buy signal we mean for a trading profit of 5-10% and if the uptrend continues than possibly longer.

I usually advocate selling most of the position after your target is hit but if you missed the beginning of the 'buy signal' then the call is 'old' and should either be ignored or the stock should be watched for any pullback.. The green light is on only so long, evenually it will turn yellow and finally red.
