John: here are some reasons. The stock is way oversold. The level
of relative strength is very close to the early Sep 98 levels when
the world looked like it was going to end. Some residual selling may still push the stock down a bit more but the downside looks limited.
This is the first in a long time that the most beaten up stocks
in the entire S&P universe include mostly names such as COMS, ORCL, CPQ, PSFT, MU, IBM, DELL and INTC. Granted they have had more than their fair share of bad news
recently but most of it is well known already.

I'd wait till it hits teens. At that time there will be other bargains as well. orcl, dell, and now ibm got hit, let us see what is next...may be intel or sun.. A correction is inevitable. Be cash ready then. Moreover panic may set in towards the latter half of the year when old morons will pull out retirement money because of y2k fuss. That could present opportunities...just my 2c.

john,

from looking at the chart, 27 is one level of support. if it breaks 27, the next level of support looks like 22. i don't want to speculate if it breaks 22, i'll be too depressed....
