All:

While you are all bashing AT&T Wireless, I use AT&T Wireless in the Washington DC and Metro areas. Lately, I have noticed an echo when I place a call. However, since I have had the plan, I think only 5 or 6 calls were ever dropped.

I wonder if Sprint is still having any problems up in NY....

Valueman, Eric--just had to add my 2 pennies on this one. Been zooming around L.A. for a few days with another guy who has a Nokia phone. We're looking at real estate to buy so naturally brokers are calling us like madmen. In 3 days, I had exactly one call dropped [and it was because the guy was calling from Seattle and went into a tunnel--not my Q 2700]. The guy with the Nokia had so many dropped that most of the brokers STOPPED CALLING HIM AND PLACED THEIR CALLS TO ME EVEN WHEN THEY WANTED TO TALK TO HIM. So I wind up handing off my phone to him while messages are piling up for me. The corker is I showed him how to handle call waiting and juggle two simultaneous calls which his Nokia can't do. Very cool.
Also, check this out. You all know about the 'car thing' in L.A., i.e, cars are slightly more important than life. Well, everybody has got a cell phone in L.A. so they can yak while driving 78 mph about 6 inches from the car adjacent--everybody. This afternoon, the car ahead of me had two, shall we say, Valley Girls: each of them talking on their cell phones while maintaining Mach 4. The Q is gonna sell so many thin phones this Christmas that even Cabi's gonna throw in the towel. You heard it here first. Surfer Mike
