Could anyone explain to me how daytraders, who "flip" in and out of the same stock several times in a day/week/ month, handle the "Wash Sale" rule when it comes to taxation? There are severe penalties on loss claims if a stock ( or similar stock) is bought, sold and rebought within either 30 or 60 days. Is there some exception for short term traders?

I'd appreciate any help on this.
