Howard: Your last statement is correct, fortunately that is true.

Also, as I believe Mills stated, a number of the largest users, e.g., manufacturing plants, will be off-line during roll-over.

However, mitigated against those positive factors, will be the following, among others:

.....solar flares from Nov-Jan are projected to be exceptionally intense, and according to a British scientist (I can find the link for you, if you wish), they will be more disruptive on the grid than even Y2K itself...

.....most/all nuclear plants will be off-line (the decision on which will be made shortly after July 1). The best estimates I have studied indicate that they account for about 20% in most areas west of the Mississippi, and up to 40% in many areas of the states east, particularly ne states......
