Institutions like to use that report to see who's handling volume in the stock. With so many stocks out there, its' not always obvious who to go to move large blocks. The more interesting version is the block report. Feb's numbers show a major decline in block volume with RSSF (their underwriter) still number one and MONT (remember them?)long gone. I suspect the numbers overall reflect a lack of instutional and retail (non-discount) interest that month. Hard to say though since the majr wholesalers like MASH and NITE keep growing in terms of order flow. Here's the link for the block numbers - Joe C.
