Geez '71 and you have fiberglass. 454s are good motors, depends on the hours. Have a marine survey done. That will cost you a grand but maybe save you 20 times as much. I think I still love you and would live aboard all week awaiting you on the weekends. I would wash, paint, clean and do repairs while you were away. Please, please. Make sure they check the stringers and transom if it is a sterndrive. The stuffing boxes if it isn't. Stringers most important. Also plumbing and holding tanks. And wiring too. If all is well you have a nice weekend get away with a ready companion.ggg
