I too would be worried about an IBM purchase of Dell, but not overly. I believe a combined company could (probably, but not certainly, would) be a formidible company and far and away the premier company in the the PC arena. Such a combination would play to the greatest strengths of both companies and would likely be a catalyst for very rapid consolidation in the sector. It might bode ill for short term momentum players but would IMO be unbeatable in the long run. Think of it this way, it would pit the combo of Dell & IBM against CPQ, GTWY & HP who would also be fighting each other. Dell leading the way with the best business model on the planet teamed with the stunning technological/service expertise of IBM. Smile! Regards. Alohal
