To a great extent, the price etc. was only marginally negotiable, given the situation of each company at that time.

This confuses strategy with execution. My point was Visi's importance to Inprise's enterprise strategy, not the impact on their business of any subsequent actions.

INPR: Isn t the problem that Y2K has taken the play away from software and enterprise at least till the 3rd & 4th quarters of this year?
