agree with your quote on dell...but the next paragraph as posted by greg, stated microsoft made money as the price of the stock rose...and then the article went further to say that selling puts...betting the stock would go down...

haven't read the article, only what greg posted...if as quoted in the second paragraph about msft, a disservice on the part of forbes suggesting msft or any company would hedge by "buying" puts against their common....strategy by dell and msft, very bullish selling puts and in dell case buying calls...some call it synthetic long, others call it loss of opportunity...but if it's good enough for dell...it's acceptable to me....an excellent strategy based on the belief of the "owners" of the direction of the stock...so much for insider selling!!!! (and remember we "shareholders" are also owners")
