Talking about valuations.... I was reading a Hambrecht & Quist article from December/98 titled " The New Call Center: Key to Maintaining Customer Intimacy" by an analyst called Reginal King. In the article RK says:

" Modern call centers are software-based products, and are increasingly perceived as strategic weapons used to attract and retain customers. Newer technologies introduced by such firms such Geotel and Aspect emphasize the importance of this developing trend"

OK, I started researching Geotel (GEOC)and here are some of their numbers:
- 98 Revenues: 44.9 Millions
- 98 Net income: 9 millions
- p/e ratio : 133.6
- Market cap: 1.2 billions?, yeah no typos here!

What is going on here?. I admit that in 97 Geotel revenues were 18.6 million, hence grew 141% vs 98, but in absolute terms, Aspect revenues in 98 grew 121.6 millions and Geotel only 26.3 million!.

John, your window seems to be looking over Aspect's parking lot. Is people still coming to work there or what?.

I tried to speak with a live person at Aspect's IR department, but was only allowed to leave a message. What is the trick to speak with somebody that breaths?

I am doing some more analysis, I will post more findings soon.
