I agree with Dan's post.

But, my motive in determining PCR's effectiveness was to determine whether Britain (regardless of how neurotic they've become) could successfully enforce a ban on GM-foods.

In an earlier post I conjectured that it is only a matter of time before an unscrupulous exporter/distributor attempts to palm off less costly GM-food for more expensive "politically correct food" for a handsome profit.

If PCR testing is easy, simple & fast then, it seemed to me, that British import/custom authorities might successfully enforce a ban. If PCR testing is expensive, time consuming and complex a ban would be more difficult to enforce.

Theoretically speaking, I was just trying to determine which would be true.
