Well done, Mr. Forthright. After about a week (as of close March 30):

10,000 JDX = $7200 --> 8500 (+18%); as high as 10,000 this week (+39%)
10,000 KWE = $7300 --> 7400 (+1.4%)

Ben

12,000 shares of MPL Communications Inc., ASE-MPZ, $0.60 per share, $7,200

Here's my rational. I was looking at the companies making new highs on the ASE this morning. MPL was on the list. Don't ask me why it made a new high yesterday I don't have a clue. This stock never trades. And it is up on very little volume. The new high could be due to a total lack of liquidity. Who knows.

I looked at the company today and found out something very interesting: these guys publish the Investors Digest of Canada and several other newsletters. They are also online at idonline.ca . Then I looked at the financials and realized that they are quite profitable. However the management of the company takes out huge management fees at the end of every year with the result that the company actually breaks even. It looks like they are running the company like a private company.

With stocks like Stockgroup.com trading at a huge market cap why is MPZ only valued at $8 million by the market. Am I missing something?

I can't be the only guy who knows that the publisher of Investors Digest is a public company? But then again, stranger things have happened.

11,000 shares of Berwind Capital, ASE-BND, $0.70 per share, $7,700.

It is a JCP. News release out on it. They are in negotiations for their major. Worth a shot. More on it later. I am too busy now.
