Fujitsu builds their own heads with backup from TDK. They will keep their supplier base Japanese.

Iomega heads on the Jaz are lagging edge technology available from any number of folks. Jaz volumes are relatively insignificant and anyway, Iomega is happy with the current suppliers.

So RDRT has to get it from QNTM on HDDs and Seagate. A tall order!

By the way, RDRT (along with a bunch of others) lost the Conner Technology competition to Yamaha.
